Our Curriculum

Through our curriculum at St James’ CE Academy School, we aim to help all our pupils learn and achieve by developing:

  • an understanding of faith and diversity
  • enthusiasm for, and enjoyment of learning
  • enquiring minds and the ability to think creatively, rationally and critically
  • confidence and self esteem to enable life long learning
  • aspirations and motivation for future success
  • the basic skills, abilities and knowledge necessary for their whole lives, in work and leisure, so they become responsible and caring citizens who make a positive
  • contribution to their local community, the city of Kingston upon Hull and beyond
  • the ability to work, both independently and co-operatively, with concentration and perseverance
  • a clear sense of right and wrong
  • the ability to make informed choices, manage risk and to cope with change and adversity
  • an appreciation of the efforts and achievements of others
  • the ability to form worthwhile relationships based on respect for themselves and others at home, school and in the community
